ATA
Telemedicine List Servers
The
American Telemedicine Association's List Servers are an
easy way to network with other ATA members interested
in a particular specialty. This mechanism is an Internet
e-mail computer program that subscribes individuals
through normal e-mail channels to a common "discussion"
group. List Servers are available for each ATA Special
Interest Group.
All
ATA members are able to take advantage of this exclusive
member benefit and use the ATA List Server daily to network
and share valuable information with colleagues worldwide.
To participate in the discussion group, you must "subscribe."
After subscribing, the List Server takes the message and
sends it to each subscriber in the group.
ATA
members are welcome to join one or more List Serveres (listed
below). Directions on how
to join an ATA List Servere are found below. This is
a one-time-only required step. Once subscribed,
the List Server manager sends a reply, which must be responded
to in order to confirm interest in becoming a List Server
member. Once confirmed, messages can be communicated
to the "group" by sending email to the address
noted in your confirmation email.
Directions
to join an ATA SIG or Telemedicine List Server:
- Click
the List Server of your choice (listed below).(The
Home Healthcare Special Interest Group List Server will
be used as an example)
- You
will arrive at that List Servers page which will have
this text:
If you are a member of "ata-homehealth"
please type:
Your email address:
Your password: (leave blank if you have no personal
password) This is OPTIONAL,
we recommend not using a password or use the same
password that you use to log onto the members only
section.
If
you are not a member of "ata-homehealth",
please choose:
Join
ata-homehealth
Visit ata-homehealth without joining (we
do not recommend this as you can only read messages
and you will have to come back to the members only
section each time to read messages)
- If
you are not a member of the List Server choose Join ata-homehealth.
- Fill
in your information that is requested.
- Click
save at the bottom of the page.
- The
page will prompt: Membership information saved. A
confirmation message was sent to your email address.
- Go
to your email inbox, the List Servere manager will have
sent a reply to the email address you gave. You
must reply to the message in order to confirm your
membership in the List Servere.
- To
communicate with other members of your List Servere,
prepare and send an email to the List Servere address
that appears in your email confirmation.
